Kenji Kamiyama's Original Anime Feature Eien no 831 Unveils More Cast

The official website and Eternal 831) revealed more cast on Tuesday:

Yōko Hikasa as Akina, who followed in her father's footsteps to run the newspaper shop where Suzushirō works

Akio Ohtsuka as Murotoa, who runs the day-to-day business at the newspaper shop

Takatsugu Awazu as Sugoroku, the veteran who teaches Suzushirō the ins and outs of newspaper delivery

Takayuki Kondō as the older Sakata twin brother who is in the top ranks of the 831 Sensen

Ryōta Iwasaki as the younger Sakata twin brother

Seiichirō Yamashita as Donki, the youngest member

Rei Igarashi as Kyōko Kagami, who became Japan's first female prime minister after the previous prime miniser resigned amid "an unprecedented calamity"

The previously announced cast include:

Sōma Saitō as Suzushirō Asano, who has the "power to stop time"

M.A.O as Nazuna Hashimoto, who has the same "power" as Suzushirо

Kazuyuki Okitsu as Seri Agawa, who is Nazuna's half-brother and the leader of the 831 Sensen crime group

The anime will run on WOWOW and stream next January. The anime commemorates the network's 30th anniversary, which occured in April 2021.

The tagline on the teaser visual (pictured right) reads, "Who restarted time when it stopped?"

Kamiyama is directing and writing the anime at Craftar, and he said last November that the anime is a "socially conscious youth crime adventure story." The story is set in Tokyo that is in deep disarray due to "an unprecedented calamity."

Kamiyama is perhaps best known for directing the Netflix released the latter two anime worldwide.

Kamiyama is also The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim prequel feature film.
