The Fable Film Opens at #2, Ride Your Wave at #9 in Japan

The live-action The Fable manga sold 228,525 tickets and earned 310,105,600 yen ($2.90 million) from Saturday to Sunday to rank #2 in its opening weekend. It actually opened on Friday, and sold 296,492 tickets for 396,614,500 yen (3.711 million) in its first three days. The Eiga.com website reports that the film is projected to earn over 2.5 billion yen (23.3 million) by the end of its run.
