Wakanim Adds Tokyo Ghoul (Updated)

posted on by Andrew Osmond
Set in a Tokyo threatened by flesh-eating ghouls, home release also confirmed from Anime Limited.

The Anime Limited confirmed on its facebook page that it had the home video rights to the series.

From Man's press-release;

In modern day Tokyo, society lives in fear of ‘Ghouls’, mysterious creatures that look exactly like humans, yet hunger insatiably for their flesh. None of this matters to Ken Kaneki, a bookish and ordinary young man, until a dark and violent encounter turns him into the first ever ‘Ghoul’/human half-breed. Trapped between two worlds, Ken must survive the violent conflicts of warring Ghoul factions while attempting to learn more about Ghoul society, his newfound powers, and the fine line between man and monster.

Tokyo Ghoul is based on the Manga by Sui Ishida that has been serialised in Shueisha's Yutaka Yamada (live-action Marumo no Okite, Hunter ~Sono Onna-tachi, Shōkinkasegi~) is composing the music.

The vocalist People in the Box will perform the ending theme "Seijatachi" (Saints).
