The official website for the television anime adaptation of Knights of Sidonia manga announced on Saturday that the series' Blu-ray Disc release will include "New Angle Version Special Clips." The anime's first Blu-ray Disc and DVD volumes will ship in Japan on May 28.

The special footage will feature a compilation of original, unmodified clips alongside unaired footage shot from a different perspective. The anime's executive producer and CG supervisor are supervising the special footage. Concentrating on battle, violent, and sexy scenes, each volume will include 20 new clips. A preview of special footage from the first episode is streaming on the series' official website.

The website also announced that the first of three planned special screening events will be held at the TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills theater on April 27 at 7:00 p.m. The event will screen the anime's first three episodes and include an advanced screening of the fourth episode before it airs on television in Japan. Six of the series' main voice cast will also attend and participate in a talk event. Attendees will receive a special favor, and fans who attend all three events will receive another special present. Tickets for the first event will go on sale on Sunday for 3,000 yen ($30).
