Japanese Box Office, April 17-18 (Updated)

Conan, Nodame, Shin-chan debut at #2, #3, #4

story, Conan's rival, the Kid the Phantom Thief (Kaitō Kid), has his eyes set on the "Lady of the Sky" jewel aboard Bell Tree I, the largest airship in the world. However, a mysterious terrorist gorup called Red Shamu-neko has hijacked the airship itself, along with Conan and his allies Kogoro and Ran.

Tomoko Ninomiya's Nodame Cantabile musical romance manga, debuted at #3 on Kogyo Tsushinsha's box office chart. The film ranked at #2 on Box Office Mojo's chart and garnered US$6,001,656 on 410 screens.

Crayon Shin-chan anime franchise, debuted at #4 with US$2,887,105 on 325 screens. For the first time in the series, the film will depict the future of the title character and his previously unseen bride, Tamiko.

Liar Game psychological thriller manga, fell Kogyo Tsushinsha's chart in its seventh weekend. The film ranked at #12 on Box Office Mojo's charts, earning US$193,964 on 283 screens for a seven-week total of US$24,309,043. The film is set after the second television season based on the manga.

The new #1 film was Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.
