Ghibli starts hiring, new publications due out

Studio Ghibli is recruiting new employees for their animation, ink and Paint, and art departments, to start work in April of 2000. The suggested age is 18 to 25, and it is not necessary to be Japanese, although near-fluent Japanese speech ability is. The deadline for interested applicants is the beginning of September. Interested parties that can read Japanese (it's required anyway) can get more information at this address.

Several new CD's and books on The Yamadas and other Ghibli-related subjects are being released soon. The CD single of the opening theme by Kanai Anzen wa Sekai no Negai" - The World Wishes for a Peaceful Home), the Special Soundtrack Album ("Yoshi, Ghibli to Issho ni Tsukuruzo!" - Alright, Let's Make It With Ghibli!), and Classical Album ("Raku Ikitara" - Why Don't You Live Easy?) were all released on July 1, and the three albums' first pressings will come with a special paper case cover and super picture label.

Isao Takahata (compiled articles and interviews), Studio Ghibli no Producer (The Producer of Studio Ghibli) by Itsuki Ando, "Yamadas" Film Comic, Roman Album, and Tokuma Anime Ehon (Picture book) are all due out in the next few months.

Stone Bridge Press publication will retail for $18.95.
